StudioYards helps visual artists create professional websites, connect Stripe, and sell their work online.

We provide the tools and integrations. Artists remain the seller (merchant of record) for every order. Payments are processed by Stripe directly to the artist’s Stripe account.

StudioYards does not handle customer funds, shipping, taxes, refunds, or customer support for orders. Those responsibilities belong to the artist.

Who We Are & What We Do

StudioYards provides website tools and integrations so artists can showcase and sell their work online.

StudioYards is a platform that helps visual artists publish websites, connect payments via Stripe, and manage an online storefront for items like original paintings, prints, and commissions.

We provide software and integrations only. We are not a marketplace. We do not broker or fulfill sales. You (the artist) list items, set prices, and handle all order-related responsibilities.

Buyers purchase directly from you. Stripe processes those payments to your Stripe account.

Your Account & Eligibility

You must provide accurate information and be legally able to run your store.

To use StudioYards, you must create an account and provide accurate information. If you connect Stripe, you must satisfy Stripe’s onboarding and eligibility requirements.

You’re responsible for maintaining the security of your login and any API keys. If you suspect unauthorized access, change your credentials and let us know.

You must comply with local laws and be legally permitted to sell your artwork (for example, being over the age of majority and having rights to the works you sell).

Merchant of Record: Artists’ Responsibilities

You are the seller/merchant of record for every order and handle all obligations.

You—not StudioYards—are the merchant of record for all sales of your art. You set product descriptions, prices, shipping policies, and refund policies.

You are solely responsible for fulfillment, shipping, delivery timelines, packaging, and communicating with buyers about orders, including issues such as damaged prints or lost packages.

You must handle returns, exchanges, and refunds according to your stated policies and applicable law.

Payments via Stripe

Stripe processes payments. Funds go to your Stripe account; StudioYards does not hold funds.

Payments for orders on your site are processed by Stripe, subject to Stripe’s terms and policies. You must maintain your own Stripe account in good standing.

Funds from your sales are paid out by Stripe to you. StudioYards does not handle or hold customer funds.

Any disputes or chargebacks are managed through Stripe. You must respond to Stripe’s requests and keep relevant evidence (for example, shipping receipts for a painting).

Taxes & Regulatory Compliance

You are responsible for taxes, permits, and compliance wherever you sell.

You are solely responsible for determining, collecting, reporting, and remitting any taxes (for example, sales tax or VAT) for your sales, including on prints shipped to other regions.

If required, configure tax settings and ensure your listings reflect tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive pricing as appropriate.

You are responsible for any permits, registrations, or compliance obligations applicable to your business and products.

Pricing, Fees & Billing (Platform)

We charge platform fees as communicated. You authorize us to bill you for them.

StudioYards may charge subscription fees, usage-based fees, or other platform fees, as described in your plan or on our pricing page.

We may update fees with notice. Continued use after changes indicates acceptance.

You authorize us to bill you for platform fees via the payment method you provide. Payment processing fees charged by Stripe are separate and paid to Stripe.

Acceptable Use & Content Rules

Use StudioYards lawfully. Don’t sell prohibited items or infringe others’ rights.

You may not use StudioYards for illegal activity, fraud, or to sell prohibited items. For example, do not sell counterfeit prints or infringing merchandise.

You must have the necessary rights to all content you upload, including images of your artwork and any text used in product descriptions.

We may suspend or remove content that violates these terms or the law.

Intellectual Property

You keep your IP. You grant us limited rights to host and display your site.

You retain ownership of your artwork and content. By using StudioYards, you grant us a limited license to host, display, and distribute your site and content as necessary to operate the service.

Do not upload content that violates others’ IP rights. If we receive a valid notice (for example, a DMCA takedown), we may remove content in accordance with the law.

StudioYards’ own software, branding, and assets are protected and may not be copied or reverse engineered.

Data, Privacy & Cookies

We handle personal data per our Privacy Policy. You must respect buyer privacy, too.

We collect and use personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. We also use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve the service.

You are responsible for how you handle buyer data collected through your store, including complying with privacy laws and honoring deletion or access requests as required.

If you install third-party tools (for example, analytics), you must ensure they are used lawfully and disclosed to your visitors where required.

Third-Party Services & Links

You may use third-party tools. They have their own terms and policies.

StudioYards integrates with services like Stripe and may allow additional third-party apps or links (for example, printing services or shipping tools).

Third-party services are not controlled by StudioYards. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.

We are not responsible for third-party sites or services, and linking does not imply endorsement.

Service Changes, Availability & Support

We improve and update the platform. Availability may vary. Support is provided for the platform only.

We’re continually improving StudioYards and may add, change, or remove features. We work to keep the service reliable, but uptime is not guaranteed.

We provide support for the platform (for example, site setup or Stripe connection issues). We do not provide customer support for your buyers or for your orders.

Planned maintenance or incidents may affect availability. We’ll communicate status for widespread issues when possible.

Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

We provide the service “as is.” Our liability is limited to the maximum allowed by law.

StudioYards is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We disclaim warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law.

To the extent permitted by law, StudioYards is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill.

In any case, our aggregate liability related to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to StudioYards in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold StudioYards harmless for certain claims related to your store.

You will indemnify and hold StudioYards and its affiliates harmless from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your products, or your violation of these terms or the law.

Termination

You or we can end the relationship. Some obligations survive termination.

You may stop using StudioYards at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or for other lawful reasons.

Upon termination, your right to access the platform ends, but certain provisions (for example, intellectual property, indemnity, and limitations of liability) will survive.

You are responsible for preserving your content and data before termination where feasible.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. We’ll post the new date and, when material, provide notice.

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change accordingly.

If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice, for example via email or in-app notifications. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing Law, Disputes & Jurisdiction

Your local consumer rights apply where required. Otherwise, law and venue are as stated here.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where StudioYards is organized, except where your local consumer law requires otherwise.

Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in that jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires a different venue.

Nothing here limits non-waivable consumer protections under the laws that apply to you.
